Did you know that 67% of couples experience a decrease in relationship satisfaction after becoming parents? These findings inspired the development of this workshop, based on the Gottman Institute’s Bringing Baby Home.
This workshop is designed for couples who are expecting a child or newly parenting a child up to three years old, including through adoption or fostering. The program supports couples during the transition to parenthood by strengthening co-parenting, communication, and emotional connection while promoting positive parent–infant relationships.
Program Outcomes
- Increase friendship in a couple’s relationship
- Enhance conflict management skills
- Improve the quality of parent-infant interactions
- Recognize the psychological and emotional needs of their child
- Gain a better understanding of child development
- Develop co-parenting strategies with their partner
- Enhance communication, connection, and compromise between partners and their baby/infant
- Recognize signs of postpartum mood disorders and explore available treatment options.
Couples that participate in this program experience:
- A significantly lower rate of postpartum mood disorders and depression
- A decrease in relationship hostility
- A higher level of relationship satisfaction
- A decreased likelihood of divorce/relationship dissolution
Couples should expect to walk away with a practical toolkit for deepening intimacy and friendship, navigating conflict, healthy co-parenting, and parent-child relationship. Because your story is your own and this isn’t group therapy, there is no group sharing. Instead, we provide a comfortable, confidential space for couples to learn new skills and work on exercises together privately.

This workshop is designed to support committed couples at any relationship stage, from early relationship to decades of partnership.
