Connected Couples Series

Ready for a deeper connection? Better conflict and communication skills? We believe every couple deserves a strong foundation. If you’re struggling or simply want to deepen your bond, we’ve created an accessible space for you to learn, repair, and thrive together.

Our Connected Couples series draws on decades of research from the Gottman Institute, these programs draw on leading evidence in relationships, parenting, child development, and family wellbeing. They are designed to support couples and new parents in building healthier relationships and support family development. These programs have been proven successful, with long-term follow-ups showing sustained improvements in relationship satisfaction after more than one year later.

The series includes two workshop offerings:

Connected Couples, for couples at any stage of their relationship
‘From Partners to Parents, designed for couples transitioning to parenthood in any way or parenting a child under three years old, including through adoption or fostering.

Both workshops are designed to deepen friendship, strengthen communication, and improve conflict management. From Partners to Parents also focuses on supporting couples through the transition to parenthood by strengthening co-parenting and parent-infant relationships.

These workshops are not group therapy or intended to replace therapy. Instead, we provide couples with the tools, resources, and practical skills in a psycho-educational format to help strengthen their relationship and work through issues.

Couples that would benefit from this workshop:

Whether you’re newly committed, living together, planning next stages, married, or have been together for decades, these workshops offer valuable tools for every stage of your partnership.

Couples that this workshop would not be well suited for:

These programs are not appropriate for couples experiencing any form of abuse or domestic violence, active and untreated addiction (substance or behavioural), or severe and untreated mental health concerns. It is not suitable for couples experiencing fear, control, or safety concerns in their relationship.

Facilitators
Programs are co-facilitated by Gottman Institute trained leaders and therapists at Family Service PEI, bringing professional expertise and a compassionate, trauma informed approach to this work

Costs & Financial Barriers
Costs per couple: Pay what you can ($0 – $400). In line with our commitment to accessibility, we offer a sliding scale and subsidies to ensure this workshop is accessible to all. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
