Family Service PEI’s Board members are chosen for their practical expertise as well as their invaluable leadership and abilities to guide Family Service PEI. The Board of Directors is responsible for the governance of the organization and acts in a position of trust for the community.

Tracey Handrahan – Board Chair


Tracey joined Family Service PEI in 2012. Tracey has many years of experience working with people, and is currently working in Social Housing with the province. Tracey's vast knowledge is an asset to Family Service PEI's goal of providing Islanders with effective and affordable services

Joel Wonnacott – Vice Chair

 

Joel Wonnacott is a lawyer with Cox Palmer in Charlottetown. Joel practices in the areas of criminal law, business law, real property law and general litigation. Joel received an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Prince Edward Island in 2011, and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of British Columbia in 2014. After graduating from UBC in 2014, Joel practiced law in BC's Okanagan before moving back to his home province of PEI in January 2017.

Kim Bailey – Secretary

Nancy LeBlanc is a Registered Social Worker who currently works full time with the Department of Justice and Public Safety as a Family Court Counsellor, and part time with Red Shores Casino as a PlayWise Advisor. Nancy has a Bachelor's of Social Work degree from Laurentian University. Nancy lives in Cornwall PEI with her husband and dog.

David Smith – Treasurer

David Smith is an IT Professional who has worked in his field for over 20 years with organizations such as Bell Canada and Nova Scotia Health. David recently moved back home to PEI, and now resides in Charlottetown with his wife and daughter and is very happy to be able to provide his daughter with the beautiful community and environment that Charlottetown and PEI have to offer. David is happy to provide any time he can to volunteer with such worthy causes as Family Service PEI and looks forward to being able to assist the organization with best of his abilities. During David's personal time he can be found enjoying his family and friends, or racing around the buoys in the Charlottetown harbor focusing on his 30+ year passion for racing sailboats.

Jessica Reddin
Jessica Reddin is working as both a full-time parent and a part-time graduate student at Mount Saint Vincent University in the department of family studies. Her interest in family studies stems from the belief that family well-being significantly impacts the well-being of individuals, which goes on to impact society on a whole. Therefore, to better service the community, she feels it is important to support families in meeting their needs. More specifically, Jessica’s professional interests include family life education, crisis prevention, family-centered practice, family-centered policy, evidence-based practice, and resiliency research. Jessica looks forward to working together with the staff and other Family Services PEI board members to create the best possible services for families in PEI.
